How would you describe your job in 2-3 lines?
My job is to underwrite renewals and make mid term amendments to existing policies in our Property and Casualty accounts.
What do you actually do on a day-to-day basis?
Rotational scheme across the different divisions in the company and roles. Currently underwriting, which involves interaction with other team members and brokers on a daily basis.
What are the main positives and negatives to your job?
Positives: Wide exposure to different areas and people
Possibility for taking on lots of responsibilities
Support and training, particularly with regards Professional Qualifications
Career development support and mentoring.
Negatives: Some placements can offer very different experiences, depending on the time the team was joined..
What qualifications and skills are needed to be great at this job?
Verbal and numeracy skills
Being organised, able to prioritise work load and time keeping
Good people skills; talking to different people on a number of levels and building relationships
