Our Transport Planning team is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding, including some of the UK’s largest residential and mixed-use developments including the NW Bicester Eco Town and Northstowe new town, Cambridgeshire, as well as Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects such as Lower Thames Crossing, Crossrail 2, and Smart Motorways. We have a reputation for the delivery of development projects across the UK and have worked for a wide variety of national and local clients carrying out Transport Assessments, Travel and Transport Planning, Traffic Management Plans and Environmental Impact Studies to gain consent for schemes. During this time, we have been engaged on the transportation and impact aspects of Education, Health, Energy and Community Development schemes and Infrastructure proposals, delivering new and proven solutions to transportation issues.

You’ll provide advisory, planning, design and consultancy services to our clients, who include Local Authorities, Highways England, Homes and Communities Agency and private sector developers. Your advice will enable our Clients to make the right decisions, develop and invest in the best solutions and realise their development goals.  
Your Day-to-Day:
  • Strategic modelling
  • Operational modelling
  • Economic Appraisal
  • Big Data
  • Development Planning
  • Transport Policy and Sustainable Travel
  • Pedestrian modelling
  • Supporting transport planning projects from forecasting and appraisal, to gathering and analysing data for local strategic modelling studies.
  • Developing and applying an understanding of national, regional and local transport policies, statutory and regulatory requirements, guidance and best practice.
  • To help promote our ‘Clients’ Land Development and Urban Regeneration Projects through the planning process”.
  • Collecting retrieving, analysing and using data and information on travel patterns and behaviour
  • Assessing the different costs and benefits of transport schemes and programmes
  • Analysing, interpreting and presenting data using spreadsheets
  • Undertaking research to understand the context for proposed schemes and their likely impacts
  • Supporting consultation with the public and engagement with stakeholders
  • Contributing to the application of the principles of transport systems/scheme design
  • Supporting identification and prioritisation of transport options and programmes
  • Developing and apply the principles and techniques of changing travel behaviour, including travel planning, travel marketing, walking and cycling initiatives and journey planning
  • Communicating effectively with a range of audiences and media using a range of techniques
  • Customer focused and commercially aware with a keen attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • An excellent communicator and relationship builder with the confidence to work on your own initiative and lead and work as part of multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to analyse problems and apply your technical knowledge to make sound decisions and create innovative solutions
  • Vision, ambition and the drive to quickly progress, achieve Chartered status and keep on developing your technical skills. 
Graduate Programme:
We have a two-year development programme for our Graduates, during which time you will be fully supported in working towards various accreditation routes. Our Graduate programmes have helped over 300 people through their accreditation exams since 2011.

Qualifications Required:

Self-motivated with a real passion for transport planning, pedestrian planning or traffic engineering. A 2.1 or above or equivalent in a subject such as Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Town Planning, Geography, Economics or Urban Planning. Master in Transport related subject desirable.
