How would you describe your job in 2-3 lines?
My job is to co-ordinate the design between the client, design team and site project team. ensuring the correct information is available in line with programme requirements and that any issues are resolved ASAP!
What do you actually do on a day-to-day basis?
Attend meetings, review drawings, meet with clients, designers, resolve issues from site team.
What are the main positives and negatives to your job?
Positives - part of a team, working directly on site is enjoyable and you feel much more part of the team than in an office somewhere.
Negatives - travel!
What qualifications and skills are needed to be great at this job?
Degree level, BAM will then encourage you to achieve a professional qualification. excellent communication skills, good under pressure working to tight time scales.
What advice would you give to candidates applying for a similar role at this company
Make sure good understanding of the industry and the way it works, pay particular attention to construction journals, building magazine etc.
What hours do you actually work, on average? 8amto 5pm.

Currently in year one of HND build studies training in procurement processes, BIM, project evaluation and design, building surveying and maintenance, architecture, environmental science, project management, urban design and building law, which includes risk management and health and safety legislation.
