What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Make sure you mention any work experience or jobs you have done. It can be something small like helping out on Saturday mornings at your family owned food store like I did. This shows your potential employer you're able to take on responsibility whilst also juggling all your other school commitments.

Do you have any interview tips?

Do a bit of research on the organisation you're applying for and what your role entails. For example, the Bank of England is rolling out the new polymer notes within the next few years. I made sure I could talk a bit about this in the interview. Also, regarding the role you are applying for, it would be good to have a little technical background. You do not need to be an expert (I certainly wasn't!) but you should have attempted at covering some basics. Armed with a little bit of knowledge shows that you have come informed to an interview, plus it also makes for great conversation during the interview when you and your employer can talk about common interests. As an apprentice you will receive support so that you can develop in your role but the willingness to be proactive in your own learning should shine through at the interview.
