What are the best and worst things about your company?
The responsibility given to graduates by the company at an early stage in our careers, whilst also the firm allowing us to study towards the ACA qualification at the same time as working. The friendliness of all colleagues no matter their position in the company with everyone more than happy to help you when you are after help. The workload can be quite intense around exam periods.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The opportunity to work on an entire audit file by yourself rather than only on one section. This keeps the work interesting and not repetitive. Some of the audits are a bit far but there will usually be a member of the team who is willing to pick you up if you do not drive.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
My colleagues and their eagerness for me to learn. Never is there a time where someone is too busy for a question. The travelling for an auditor can be tiring occasionally.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The people I work with are friendly and very helpful. They always find the time to help you if you're stuck. The ACA qualification whilst rewarding, it is hard to balance full-time employment and studying for multiple exams at the same time.As a trainee auditor, sometimes the location of the client's can be awkward to get to without driving and just relying on public transport.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The people at the company are all very friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The best part of the job is that you get to travel round various different companies, seeing lots of different industries. Some audits will require long travel times, which will result in very long days.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Great people to work with and there's a real emphasis placed on being a team and working together. Constant travelling to different client premises - although this is the nature of the job.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Firstly the exposure to different areas of an audit file. By the time you are a senior you are sure to have gained experience in lots of different areas, and not just audit. This expands to tax (personal and corporate) and other ad-hoc areas such as re-organisation. Secondly, it is an excellent training firm that offers support and guidance throughout your training contract and even once you're qualified, ensuring your continuous professional development. Thirdly, the managers and partners listen to our feedback. We hold meetings every so often which prove to be very successful with one of the points resulting in an increase in annual leave. Lastly, we hold regular social events from Bowling to quiz nights to horse racing to Crystal Maze game show. These are a great opportunity to bring everybody together and get to know people outside of work. As we have to attend client's premises to carry out audits, we are sometimes required to travel a lot. This is nothing more than a usual commute but it can sometimes mean that one day you are outside of London and then next you are in the City.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
One of the best things about Barnes Roffe is the level of responsibility you are given form a very early stage. Within months you will be at a clients completing sections of the audit file with the seniors. After around one year you will then be given more independence and may be responsible for some smaller accounts preparations/audits on your own. This high level of responsibility really helps to improve your understanding. The support provided from management and seniors is generally very good, and this will be key in allowing you to develop your overall skills. The most difficult part is balancing the examinations alongside your work. Time will be given to study for the exams, however revising after a day of audit can sometimes be quite difficult and requires good time management. Overall however, the firm is very supportive of students taking their exams, and generally will do everything they can to help you through them.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Barnes Roffe really help support you through your exams (I am now ACA qualified) and I found they give you lots of space during exam periods which wasn't the case for some of the other people in my class employed elsewhere. You can also get a lot of exposure and responsibility from quite early on which helps keep the job interesting and motivation levels up.Sometimes audit can become fairly repetitive but Barnes Roffe help this by allowing the chance for experience in other areas such as accounts preparation, accounts services such as VAT returns or bookkeeping and also involvement in taxation work.
