Application Advice:

Research the company's values and try to demonstrate those in your answers.

Interview Advice:

Very cliche but be yourself. Interview focus on strengths rather than competencies. The interviewers will be looking to assess whether you have the right attitude to succeed and integrate yourself in the company. Also, research the company, it's current focus and projects and try to bring out that knowledge in the group exercise.

Application Advice:

Read our graduate blogs before applying. They'll give you a real sense of the work you can get involved with and the skills our current graduates possess.

Interview Advice:

Give structure to your answers. Many questions are competency based, so set the scene of where you've demonstrated a skill, say what the challenge was and what you did, and what the result was.

Application Advice:

You tend to find a certain type of people in Capgemini- friendly, positive and collaborative. If you enjoy working in groups, helping each other and having a common goal VS always being the leader in a group, then Capgemini is the company for you!

Interview Advice:

I was given some scenarios which I could be faced with while at work, and I had to come up with possible solutions. What I did was to jump to a possible solution, rather than focusing on the process. My advice for potential candidates would be to focus on the process and not on the outcome, be friendly and talkative and just be yourself!

Application Advice:

Be very clear on why you want to get in consulting, what we do, and why that excites you. Avoid buzzwords... do you really understand the work you will be doing, and what value you can bring to the team?

Interview Advice:

We are a very collaborative place... so don't expect to come in and "dominate" the interview. Be prepared to challenge others and assert a point of view, but ensure that you are also taking the time to invite contributions from others.

Application Advice:

Take time to research the company and talk to some current grads, and work out what differentiates it from its competitors. The culture is surprisingly different and for some people it's exactly what they need to flourish, but others might prefer a more corporate and rigid structure.

Interview Advice:

Be yourself. Sorry to whip out a cliche, but half of the interview is about your competence and the other half is about your fit. If you fit the company culture then that is a big plus, if not then it doesn't really matter how great you do in the tests. This goes both ways - take the chance to ask as many questions as you can to find out about the company, as you need to decide if you want to work here.

Application Advice:

Be yourself, don't try to pretend to be what you think they are looking for. Firstly it will only cause issues if you get the job by pretending, and secondly there is no need.

Interview Advice:

Make sure you are prepared, you are given the appropriate information beforehand to help you along the way, so make sure to use it.

The assessment day has multiple parts, make sure you don't neglect any part. Try to find ways to practice business scenario questions if possible.

Application Advice:

Can you demonstrate times where you have been a key part of a successful team - either sporting or academic. Examples of communication and presentation skills are good. Academic achievements are obviously also valued highly. Don't lie - you'll get found out.

Interview Advice:

Prepare properly - read up on the company, be aware of relevant news stories, make sure your case study answer is good and you are confident talking about it. Relax In the interview - they want to employ people who are comfortable communicating and presenting to people they don't know. First impressions are key.

Application Advice:

Sounds cheesy, but be yourself. The Capgemini grad scheme genuinely isn't looking for people with a particular background or skillset but they do pick out articulate and proactive individuals. I've seen people with really strong work experience and skills be overlooked because they weren't deemed a 'good fit' for the Capgemini community.

Application Advice:

Embody the company values, really aim to understand what the role/practice you are applying to means - what your role would look like.

Application Advice:

Prepare well, think methodically and be yourself. The interview process is a two-way, so it's important that that applicant chooses Capgemini because you see yourself fitting in etc, just as much as the other way round.
