What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Communication is key, being able to talk to people is the root of being a surveyor. Having experience is going to push you up the list as you are being taken on in a trainee role that costs the company alot to put you through and the last thing they want is to take someone on and that person decides it's not right for them.
Do you have any interview tips?
Main piece of advice would be to relax, they are not out to trip you up, they just want to get a sense of you as a person and see if you can hold a conversation and retain some knowledge. Know your current affairs, industry related facts (land prices, rents, commodities prices, relevant govt ministers).
