What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Make it as clear as possible what IT and problem solving skills you have. They don't have to be directly applicable but they want to know you can learn. For the IT positions specifically, you don't have to be from an explicit IT background (I came from Physics) but you need to have some experience with computing.
Do you have any interview tips?
My top tip would be to make sure you have a good knowledge of the company itself and what they do. Also think about other companies which operate in the same areas and are competitors to CGI.
For my interview I had a one on one interview followed by a group assignment.
Try as much as possible to be yourself - the interviewers seemed to respond very positively to people who showed good interaction with the other interviewees and the interviewers themselves (they are looking for people who can communicate with clients as well as work in teams). In the group assignment don't be too aggressive with your opinions - make sure you're contributing but don't drown other people out and make sure you listen to others.
