Application Advice:
Try and tailor your application to the firm where possible. This can be a little tricky when you have applied to myriad firms who all ask more or less the same questions. But a little research into the firm and the sectors it works in will come through in any application and show that you have a real interest in the firm, even if it is one of many that you have applied for.
Interview Advice:
Be genuine. HR see hundreds of people a year and will spot those putting on the façade they think the firm wants to see. The interview is as much about assessing a candidates fit with the firm as it is about any qualifications. By being yourself in the interview it will allow HR to properly assess your suitability for the role, which can only help, as well as allowing you to get a more genuine impression of the firm and what it would be like to work for them.
