What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Start: 8:30

Finish: 17:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Be willing to be flexible and enthusiastic to all tasks asked of you. There is a constant stream of work of all variations, which is expected to be carried out on time and to a good degree of accuracy. Questions amongst the department are encouraged in the learning process.

Once confidence and experience was gained, I was given my own small developments to masterplan, design and coordinate through the planning process, from pre app/outline, dealing with planners and the public to obtaining reserved matters/full detailed planning applications.

Although supervised by senior members of the Design Department, the responsibility of designing each house, complying with planning policies and liaising with planning officers and consulting with the public were all left in my hands.

Genuine interest in residential architecture, basic knowledge of construction methods, AutoCAD/Adobe/Sketchup etc. proficiency
