What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Show a strong interest in the energy industry.
Show an understanding of the present trends in the energy industry/market, and the transformational challenges it faces.
Show that you can "drive change" and encourage others to change - the industry is changing so much that this is vital!
Show that you seek feedback from others (e.g. in a team) and that you act on this feedback.
Show that you are capable of dealing with diversity (e.g. people from different backgrounds and countries).

Try to be yourself during the entire application process.
Smile and show enthusiasm (but don't be over the top!).
Don't try to show off or talk about things you don't fully understand, as you'll be found out pretty quickly!
