What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Do not get too stressed with the numerical reasoning tests. The process is not to see who can get 100% in the time frame, it is there to test how you work out an answer and what logical steps you take. You don't need to answer 100% to pass.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be yourself. As a company, FirstGroup appreciates genuine people who are down to earth and able to socialise as well as act professional. Come to the interview, be yourself, and let us see the real you. That's the person we will be working with, so we want to know what you're like just as much as how good your knowledge of the rail industry etc. is.
Also, the interview process is a time for you to assess us as a company. Ask yourself if you feel we are a company you could work for and be happy to be a part of. If you don't feel it is right, then don't feel afraid to say so. At the end of the day, nobody wants to work in a position they don't enjoy.
