Scores achieved on tests used at the initial stage can be very much improved with a little practice, especially if it has been a while since you have done anything like it.
Interview Advice:
Research the roles on offer. Whilst you will not expected to be an expert not being able to answer questions such as 'what is an audit?' or 'why do you wish to train in corporate tax?' will not give the interviewer much confidence in you.

Research the role carefuly and they type of industry you are looking to work for as the type of work involved in a practice based role can vary significantly across departments such as ausit, personal tax and corporate tax.
Interview Advice:
Research the professional qualification you are going to study, for example ACA or ACCA as you may get asked why you want to go down a particular route for example. Find out about the exams involved with each qualification, the time frame to complete the qualification etc.
Ask about the typical work involved on a day to day basis for the role you are applying to. This will give you an idea as to how you may fit into the work environment.

I would say that it would be a good idea to research the different departments and have an idea of 'where you want to be'. I always knew I wanted to be in Tax and so I made the interviewer aware of this.

Be honest and know your stuff. With Hazlewoods you really need to be prepared when you walk into the room.
You will have a test before your interview too so make sure you use the practice tests that get sent to you in advance.
