Application Advice:

More than anything, make sure the corporate values are something you believe in. Make it very clear on your application. We recruit more on personality than actual skills. You can learn everything in the job, except your own attitude/personality.
If not sure, just ask anyone from the HR team, they are very friendly and will be more than happy to help you out during the application process.

Interview Advice:

Just be yourself. An interview with Hilti is not about what you know, it is about who you are and who you are aspiring to be. Try and be very honest with your aspirations. Mobility and career progression are two very important features for candidates.

We live and breathe our company values and these should be embedded in the CV and in the cover letter. Entrepreneurship, drive to outperform and target orientation are key, but they have to naturally fit with our company values.

Interview Advice:

Be yourself! In this company NO ONE will ask you "trick questions", they just want to know if you are a personality fit with the organization even before you match the job description. Things can be learnt, personality is hard to change.
Don't be afraid to ask questions and try to really understand if this organizaiton is where you see yourself.
Common questions are: Tell me what have been your biggest achievements and how did you go about it.
Tell me where you see yourself in 2 years and in 5 years.
Have you ever sold something? how did you go about it and how did you feel during the process.

Application Advice:

In your application show that you have the right skills for the job you are applying for, the account manager position requires a good level of understanding and you need to be able to think of solutions quickly. Communication is the single most important thing within the company and this means you need to reach out to people you have never seen or met and this encourages the whole company to work together- so teamwork is essential. Show in your applications that you can be reactive in a busy environment and manage your time well as you will often find yourself dealing with important requests which you haven't planned in or were not expecting. Remeber you are going to be starting a professional career and as such you should be prepared to break free of your old habits and accept the challenge ahead, it won't be easy but it'll certainly be worthwhile. Due to the fact you may want to work abroad it is worth showing that you can communicate in different languages.

Interview Advice:

Be prepared. Read into the company, look at what we do and the services we can provide. You won't be expected to know the company's finance history but a good understanding of some basic figures will show you are keen and have done your research! You will find all the information you need on the company's website. Look into the core values and the business model as it is vital to understand what forms the basis of the way we do business and our business conduct. Prove yourself. You WILL be asked to prove yourself within the interview so make sure you have thought of good examples where you have implemented key skills such as teamwork and communication. Also think of examples where you can show that you have the values the company adheres too (theres 4 and they're on the website). Try and think of genuine examples as most of the time you will get caught out in the follow up questions! So definitely give it thought before firing your answers out! Gather all the information you can about the company and even about the people that you will be interviewed by via professional networking platforms, LinkedIn for example, don't however start networking with them prior to your interview as these platforms are there to network with people you have met or know already, but they do provide a good basic understanding of the indviduals background so you can get some tailored questions ready. Ask questions, show that you are keen. This is also a chance for you to make sure the company is right for you so do not hesitate to ask questions which you feel are important.
