Job Review
Trainee Solicitor at Latham & Watkins
at Latham & Watkins

What are the best and worst things about your job? Best:
The steep learning curve, always being outside my comfort zone and therefore improving on a daily basis; the responsibility and autonomy that I enjoy in an environment of excellent supervision. The pay is also very attractive.
It is a demanding job - in terms of hours and in terms of stress levels - which is the flip side of it being interesting and challenging each day. The unpredictability of the hours can make it difficult to make social plans, including at the weekend.
What is the annual salary for this role? Starting salary: £41,000 - £43,000
Current salary: £45,000 - £47,000
What hours do you actually work, on average?
09:00 - 20:00
What advice would you give to someone applying to this role? Application Advice: Be clear on what you want and why - because it is important on an application form or in an interview that drive/motivation comes across.
Interview Advice: The best preparation is doing lots of interviews, so I would look to ensure that any interview at Latham & Watkins is not your first ever interview.
