Application Advice:
Address your cover letter to the right person! Make an effort to seek out the CSD's or Head of HR's name, rather than 'Dear Sir or Madam'
Interview Advice:
Brush up on the agency in a big way, and have good examples of different types of advertising up your sleeve - out of home, digital, social, TV, print etc. I would advise having a good and a bad example for each.

Application Advice:
Unless adverts fascinate and delight you, this isn't the role for you. Planning requires a genuine understanding of what an advert or piece of communication is trying to do, beyond a superficial 'like it/don't like it'.
The good news is that all you really need to do when applying is be able to demonstrate that understanding, and be sure to show your enthusiasm and passion too!
Interview Advice:
Read a lot. There's loads out there - blogs, books, industry magazines etc. It's good to come across as knowledgeable. Be careful though, try and talk about your own opinions of particular adverts too. There's loads of insightful analysis of what ads do and don't work out there, but it'll be obvious if you're just parroting someone else's view.

Interview Advice:
Ask lots of questions. Research the company and their past/present work. Know a lot about their brands history - particularly McDs. Be articulate and show your interest. Tell them why you'd fit in.
