What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Think about how law fits within the wider sphere of commerce. If a candidate can come to understand what a corporate lawyer's role is with potential clients, this comes across well in interviews and demonstrates commercial awareness.
I would just reading (non-legal) news stories and trying to work out how a firm like Linklaters may have been involved and what areas they may have advised on.
Do you have any interview tips?
The academic background of a candidate is often irrelevant. A role as junior lawyer requires many skills which you may have developed through previous work experience/extra-curricular activities such as teamwork, leadership, communication skills etc. Make you think about these carefully before interview and prepare thoughtful examples.
