Show enthusiasm towards the job and the work that you could be involved in.
Interview specific: Bring good examples of work that is of a similar subject or using similar skills. In my case, I brought examples of CAD work that I had completed during university to show my competency with a modelling software - I am since using a new software, but skills and method are similar and transferable.
Engineering specific. Was asked to draw a vacuum cleaner, and represent different aspects of it, how it works, and the trick question "where is the vacuum?"
Building services specific. Given a room, and by understanding the laws of convection and radiation, where the placement of a radiator in a room would go. As well as what happens when this location is moved, or additional heat sources are placed in the room.
