How would you describe your job in 2-3 lines?
I am responsible for carrying out various studies for our clients and writting the reports to feed back the results.
What do you actually do on a day-to-day basis?
Most of my time is spent at my desk using various analysis programmes to help carry out a large variety of studies. I interact with a lot of the team, as there is the opportunity to be involved in quite a few projects of a varied nature.
What are the main positives and negatives to your job?
Positives: There is a variety of work and the oportunity to work on some very interesting projects..
Negatives: There is little 'hands on' elements to the work..
What qualifications and skills are needed to be great at this job?
A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. The more focus placed on the power aspects on the degree, the better.
What advice would you give to candidates applying for a similar role at this company
Brush up on the basics of power system theory before interview.
Be aware of different consultancy firms.
Check the company website for background information.
What are the best and worst things about your job? Best:
Training is viewed very positively, and so there are a lot of opportunities to take advantage of.

You get to work on a great variety of projects from a great many countries.

There is a good bonus scheme.

You get involved in real work very quickly, gaining quite a bit of responsibility.

There is a wealth of knowledge that you can continue to learn from.

It is a friendly team that is enjoyable to work with.
There is not much of an opportunity to get out of the office.
How could the job and company be improved?
There could be the ability to work 9/10 as with other companies.
What hours do you actually work, on average? 8amto 5pm.
