Demonstrate why you are interested in Local Government through having knowledge and understanding of the sector (its services, challenges and opportunities in the future) as well as demonstrating the attitudes of a local government officer- team work, spending money wisely, working for a with communities etc. in your application.
Do you have any interview tips?
As the final interview is held at your host authority, it pays to have a good understanding of that council, what challenges it faces and its priorities. Although it is an advances to have visited the council's area before, its not the end of the world if you havent as long as you can sell why you chose that council over all the rest of involved council.
