As the UK’s largest owner and operator of Gas Distribution networks in the UK, we distribute gas to approximately 11 million homes and businesses – that’s half of the UK. Gas is a key component of the UK’s energy mix, providing approximately 85% of the UK’s total domestic energy consumption.
Operations is based on a geographic model and is made up of five Network Delivery teams; East Anglia, East Midlands, West Midlands, North West, and North London. Each of these geographic areas are responsible for work execution across all processes; Emergency Response and Repair, Operate and Maintain, and Replace and Extend. This is in addition to geographic responsibility for Trade Union relations and incident management.
You'd be an important part of a function that employs around 2,700 field engineers across our networks, with opportunities to experience a number of challenging, diverse and rewarding roles such as:
Helping engineering and field force teams plan and deliver maintenance and repair workloads.
Supporting operatives tackling gas escapes and emergency scenarios.
Producing the information and reports that help managers make critical business decisions.
Developing process improvement initiatives and projects within the operational teams.
Working closely with other departments within Gas Distribution to develop and deliver investment in our assets, thereby ensuring continued safe, reliable and efficient operation of our networks into the future.
You will be fully embedded within the Operations team structure, and with close support from experienced colleagues you will provide valuable support, expertise and leadership to ensure we continue to deliver for our customers and stakeholders.
