What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Industry experience and extra-curricular activities are a really good way to show off that you have a genuine interest in engineering and it's applications. Get a good grasp of the products Renishaw releases and a rough idea of it's general market. As a physicist in background who has gone into the scientific stream, although academics are important there will be many other people applying with the same background, make sure you have something that sets you apart!
Do you have any interview tips?
I did a summer placement with Renishaw and got offered my graduate placement from that. Therefore, I did not have a formal interview but generally for the scientific stream the roles will be optical physics orientated so look into basic optical principles and components.
