What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Focus for this specific job is on academic credentials, so lay these out clearly. Provide clear justification for applying for this job in your cover letter. Keep it concise and interesting (though not overly funky!). Formating should be clear to read and easy to follow, but other than that, probably does not make or break your application. Mention where you heard about the job in your cover letter.

Do you have any interview tips?

The interview comprised an academic presentation given to a technical audience, followed by technical questions, and several individual interviews with more technical questions (details were provided in invitation to interview). Be prepared to explain your academic work in detail, to justify any technical choices made, and to clarify. The interviews are very straightforward, with no element if trying to trip you up or catch you unawares - everything serves the purpose of establishing whether you are the right person for the job.

As in life, be nice to people you meet.
