What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Be yourself, Skanska are looking for people who will fit in with their values and beliefs. Be honest and don't be false, it shows in interviews. Learn about the company and a few of their projects, showing an honest interest in the work is a good thing.

Do you have any interview tips?

Skype Interview.
*Pretty informal, although worth dressing up for. One of the Emerging talent team called and we went through a few questions about my course and about Skanska including their projects that I had researched and of course, what I could bring to Skanska.

Assessment centre -

* The day consisted of a presentation (20 mins to prepare). This was based loosely around the job, mine was - what do you expect Skanska are looking for in a QS? I had to present on a sheet of paper and give a 10 minute presentation, basically selling myself to the panel of 7 people including a recent graduate.

* Interview - 2 members of staff took me into a room, and we basically had a chat about my life, they asked about preferred location and all the basic interview questions but it wasn't really a formal interview, more of a chat so that they could see if I fit into Skanska's beliefs.
* Team challenge - We were split into two groups and told to make a bridge out of various stationery (rulers, sellotape, staples, paper, etc.) these all had values attached to them so you were limited to what you could have. The aim was to make a suspension bridge that would hold a toy car up for a minute. The assessors would monitor you as a group and make notes.
