What are the best and worst things about your company?
The opportunity to be involved in every aspect of the energy market, and to mould your development around what interests you most. A lot of travel is required, and you can be sent to quite remote areas. You need to be able to adapt to this, so that you can get the best from your experience at work.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
I graduated from university and had a few years business experience before joining SSE's Business Academy. I can honestly say I have really enjoyed it so far. The people are in general fantastic and very friendly. So far I have completed 2 placements. One in the Enterprise part of the business and one in Human Resources. The opportunity to try different areas and get a varied range of experience across different areas of the business is definitely one of the best parts for me. I would first say that with any job, there are negatives, but with SSE it has been a fantastic experience so far. It has been difficult at times managing time wise between working full-time and university. But it is a great opportunity to get a second degree in Applied Business and Management. I would say so far, that because SSE is so big, sometimes the flexibility is not there I.e. There is a processes for approval to get things done.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
1. Welcoming managers and co-workers. 2. Opportunity to get involved in several areas of the energy sector. 3. Flexibility offered by the graduate programme and freedom to choose your own placements. 4. Opportunity to gain both site and more technical office-based experience. 5. Belonging to a 'home team' who look after you throughout the graduate programme.1. Low risk approach characteristic of large companies - not much scope to work in up-and-coming technologies or in the development of new methods. 2. Relatively small size of SSE's fleet compared with some energy companies means that the amount of engineering work contracted out is quite high, meaning the range of engineering problems dealt with by SSE employees is lower than I'd ideally like. 3. A little more support in finding placements would be appreciated.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Company operates a large variety of technologies from gas CCGT to wind turbines, therefore as a graduate have a broad and varied development. The company does not act as a principle designer, therefore would not be suitable for individuals looking for a design engineering role.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
I've had great experience in a variety of business areas through the graduate engineer programme. Everyone in the company has been very approachable and the company puts the safety of its employees before anything else.I'm yet to have a bad experience in the company.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
The graduate scheme offers the flexibility to focus on the part of the industry you want. There is a certain level of disassociation between what the business can offer and the graduate scheme requires.
