What are the best and worst things about your company?
- The firm successfully promotes a friendly and open culture. All members of staff are approachable and easy to get along with. This is really important in achieving a collegiate approach to the work we do. - The types of client are varied and interesting. As Taylor Wessing is one of the few firms in the city with a private client practice, you experience individual clients as well as the larger corporate clients. Also, as our industry focus is around life sciences / technology etc. many of the client contacts are interesting and have different personalities. The firm ensures you get a lot of contact with clients. - You are never treated as a general admin assistant. The firm tries to help you develop and learn, which is vital upon qualification.- Like any city firm, the hours can be long at times. However, the firm is very appreciative and does not expect you to work for the sake of it. - Seat selection could arguably be more transparent at times. - There is variation between fee earners and departments over the amount of responsibility you are given. Some prefer to give you lots and others manage you more heavily.

What are the best and worst things about your company?
Excellent vacation scheme and a strong focus on your recruitment. People are friendly and even senior partners are generally approachable. Level of work interesting with some extremely interesting clients and good responsibility at an early stage. There can be a limited support structure in some teams. There is also a lack of transparency on seat selections, perhaps due to a comparatively small intake and some departments only taking on one trainee. The hours can be long at times.
