What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

A keen interest in the subject area you are applying for is a must. A university project/dissertation on a topic relevant to your job role goes a long way.

Do you have any interview tips?

The recruitment process is made up of two interviews. One personal/personality interview with the standard 'Can you give an example of a time when' style questions. The second will be a technical interview on the subject area you have applied for.

The interviewer needs to see somebody they can picture working with.

For example, my role as a optical engineer I was asked about some of the underlying physics of optics and a few equations.
