What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £35,000 - £37,000

Current salary: £39,000 - £41,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 9:00

Finish: 6:15

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

The company values disappeared while I was there and carry no weight while in a role at the company (as you'd expect in a giant corporation), but they do matter a lot when you apply, and I do think Microsoft try hard to find people who demonstrate them:

Don't waste too much time (but do spend some), researching Microsoft's history and everything the company is doing. I made the mistake of becoming the UK's #1 quizzer on Microsoft (on Quiz Up) and ended up knowing more about Microsoft than most of the company. Most Microsofties don't actually know nearly as much as you'd expect about the company or products. They're just nice (and mostly smart) people!

Do you have any interview tips?

Focus on likeability, teamwork and positivity.

Even though Ballmer is gone, evanglism is a big part of Microsoft, be sincere when you talk about what you love about the company.

If you can present in the final assessment centre, do it! Both of us who presented in my assessment center of 8 were hired (and it was the same in the others).
