What are the best and worst things about your job?
I get to do more than client work - I've been working on the social committee, recruitment team, office move team, and most recently I've been making marketing material for the company! For me, since I have a business degree, I love the variety and didn't expect to use my degree as much as I have been. :) The people are also lovely, my manager is really nice and fun to be around, and my project manager for client work is a great mentor and teacher. Because Capacitas is a small company, I've gotten to speak to everybody, and I love being able to talk to the leadership team in a casual way - for example, me and the CEO were taking things apart together for the office move and just having a normal chat while doing so! Not every company can say that about their CEO. :)

Application Advice:
As with any application, tailor it to Capacitas. Make sure you have some idea of what the job is and what skills you need/will need to build. Since we're a cloud consultancy at heart, you need to have an understanding of what the Cloud is, and how it is used in the business world. If you aren't sure - just do a little google research. If the research you're doing doesn't appeal to you, then applying for Capacitas might not be right for you.
On the topic of skills - make sure you evidence statements where you mention having them! For example, if you're applying for a service delivery role (consultant/analyst), then you need to be a good problem solver individually, but also in a team, so make sure that comes across in your application - don't just talk about individual projects, talk about team working! Even working as part of a team in a part-time job is extremely valuable. The second important thing is to review your technical skills, and consider whether you can upskill for the role. For example, as with most office jobs, we use a lot of Excel at Capacitas. Being better than the average person who applies with set you apart!
Interview Advice:
Be yourself, be confident but not cocky, and don't give up even with tough questions. The interviewers are nice people, and they want you to succeed - they wouldn't be interviewing you if they didn't! Build a rapport with them and make sure you're actively listening to what they are telling you. If you don't understand something; clarify, so that you can make sure the answer you give is appropriate for the question you're being asked.

Dont be afraid if you dont know the answer. What we look for is how people tackle being out of their depth. Ask questions. Take problems back to basics and slowly build up to a solution.

Application Advice:
Make sure to add any experience that shows technical and communications skills. Even hobbies like "theatre" or "public speaking" or anything else that supports the above.
Make sure to personalise your application to Capacitas, researching the role you're applying for in depth and don't use a template application (we notice when that happens).
Interview Advice:
Research our clients, cloud providers, what cloud computing is and understand capacity and performance concepts in a very high level manner.
Show us why you're interested in the role beyond "getting a job" and "I always loved computers".

Application Advice:
Make sure you link your skills to consultancy and give examples. Also, make sure you talk about your knowledge/experience of the more technical IT aspects (i.e. the industry and key parts of that). Since working here, I have helped out with recruitment and triaging the CVs, so I know that as long as you communicate well and cater your application to the company and job role, you have a good chance, regardless of what you've studied.
Interview Advice:
Don't give up even when the questions are hard - remember that they are trying to see HOW your answer, not necessarily WHAT you answer. You will be asked questions about what the company does and slightly more technical questions about what that means, so be sure to do additional research on that!
