Application Advice:

Practice for the tests.

The job is well rounded, plan for that in the application and interview. You will be required to analyse, use excel, make decisions, work well with others and deal with new problems.

Interview Advice:

Prepare interview answers. Get someone to ask you questions you haven't prepared for. You may be asked questions you haven't thought of so you will need to deal with that.

Be brave, they will be potentially be looking for future leaders so you need to show you can achieve that. Say how you can make/have made difficult decisions and managed a team. You possibly may not have everything they can possibly want when specifics are asked, explain what experiences you have near that, why you know it is within your abilities and how you can achieve what is asked.

The interview may be slightly less formal than some companies like accounting or law firms. I found mine in part was about my personality, how I deal with problems both work wise and people wise. The interviewers may be people you work with, I have felt I work with others more than under others since I have started. They will want to get a feel for how you can contribute to working with them, rather than just being able to follow instructions.

Best:

There are lots of opportunities to gain International experience. Furthermore, since we face lots of changes and issues at Essentra, there are various opportunities for improvement - which in turn offers me - as a graduate - to learn a lot about International business.

Worst:

The International management is really bad. People talk a lot about changes and pretend to help you when you struggle. However, in reality you are quite alone with your issues and it feels like you are just a number to the International managers.

Another bad thing is the unclear strategy. The board communicated that our components business would be stabilized, however, it does not feel stabilized at all. Acquired companies are not well integrated and people often work against each other.
