Smart CV, no waffle, have a proven track record of achievements/winning in life, be calm and confident in your phone interview.

Interview Advice:

Be confident and engaging, massive curveball questions will be thrown at you, take them in your stride and don't falter. Be prepared to have your CV picked apart and life-decisions scrutinised. Interviewers are looking for normal, personable individuals, not show-ponies or nervous wrecks.

If the thought of hours on the phone makes you quake in your boots, don't bother applying. You need to be mentally strong and willing to work hard to earn money. The cash people make here is staggering, always achieved through grind and hard work. But the role itself is varied, you will run your own diary, lead your own meetings, and learn a lot about how business works.

Application Advice:

People buy from People.... be yourself. We only recruit people that we feel will fit within our business, and who our customers will like, ahead of even talking about machines and solutions! If you're yourself in the application and write a covering letter that shows your fun and competitive side, you've a higher chance of getting through. Typically this is shown through playing sport, or having hobbies that show a competitive side!

Interview Advice:

As above - and some. If you make management laugh, share stories, and the interview lasts an hour, but feels like it was ten minutes... you're doing well. Don't pretend to know about sales if you don't - the business doesn't expect you to have any sales skills (although some experience is helpful). We are looking for great people - you will have all the training you need to learn to "sell". Other pointers - dress smart (that means a suit), shave (if you're a man - bristle is fashionable, but not smart!) and don't wear brown shoes!!!

Application Advice:

Be prepared to work really, really hard. It’s a myth that sales careers are all about having "the gift of the gab". You need to be prepared to work harder than anyone else in the room.

Interview Advice:

Think about things you have done that prove you are resilient. Even if you've failed at something and have had to come back from a disappointment in life, you need to see this as character building and proof of your resilience, rather than a negative.

Be confident, but not arrogant!
