Application Advice:
Be honest. Be yourself. Sell that self. Either you're the sort of person Nomura is looking for or not.
Make sure to get across why you want to work in Investment Banking, why you specifically want to work for Nomura, and what it is about yourself that could bring value to the company.
Interview Advice:
Always ask a question or two towards the end of your interview - even if it's just asking the interviewer about their experiences in the firm. Make it more of a two-way conversation to reduce the workload on yourself and make it seem more friendly.
Every interview I've had here has not been about technical skills, but rather the ability to work in a team, to lead the team where necessary, to think outside the box and to solve problems.

Application Advice:
The application process varies between divisions, some do not require any testing. The firm makes a point of acting quickly and trying to make offers as soon as possible, my entire application process took under a week.
Getting to know the company inside out and doing research on the issues affecting the area you are applying for are more important than technical skills and going to recruitment fairs, meeting employees and getting their names to put in your cover letter is far more valuable than you may realise. The recruiters want to see that research has been done and effort has been put in; a generic CV and cover letter won't do.
Interview Advice:
The interviewers will ask about issues affecting the industry and business but they are most interested in your personality and whether you will be a good fit for the role. They do not necessarily have set questions to ask or boxes to tick, so some interviews can be very short and very casual.

Humble but confident; appear keen; ask questions when you don't know the answer. Expect to have a robust understanding of valuation methodologies and to be able to expand on them. You will be tested on technicals, but you will be also be judged on your character, whether you're interested and demonstrate an awareness of the business landscape (e.g. any recent IBD deals, how global markets are performing, etc).
