What are the best and worst things about your job?
My team is very friendly and happy to help me with different tasks I am trying to do. The very limited times I have been in to the office it has seemed really lovely and a nice work atmosphere. Even though teams do not typically mix, I have been able to talk to people in the other teams in the department and have all been friendly and nice to have a chat with. Being a woman in STEM, quite often there is a huge gender gap in the organisation, but outside of my immediate team, most of the department seems to be really well mixed. Read more

What are the best and worst things about your job?

I like the flexibility, although my weekdays feel like my days are just spent at work, I am still able to finish at 4pm, and have the rest of the afternoon/evening to do what I desire along with weekends and bank holidays off which with some jobs that isn't the case, along with annual leave and occasional half days and days off.

Nonetheless, the workload is most definitely manageable. It is all in the mindset that you put yourself in and if I'm in the right mindset and am thinking positive, I am then able to get a lot of work done in a day and find my tasks enjoyable.

Industry: Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism Department: Complaints Resolution

What are the best and worst things about your job?

1000x better than any retail position out there.
Complaints Resolution is more about the investigation and acting as a check instead of dealing with frontline public worries like bin collection although this area still monitors things like that.
Flexible working, good pay, a massive improvement to mental health and personal wellbeing in a supportive environment.
