Really know why you want it, and who you are. SW6 Associates is built on the drive of our Consultants and how well we all get on - so in interview we try and find out about the real you. The interview isn't just about your degree - it's about what motivates you and what you've enjoyed and not enjoyed doing around your degree.

Application Advice:

Make sure that you actually want to do recruitment. No matter how good your company is, recruitment will never be easy. Think about how much you really want it and why you want it. If it's money, career progression and a social environment, great. If you want to help people, it's probably not for you.

Interview Advice:

Be really honest about your motivations and focus on the things you have done that have been hard! Everyone has a degree, what have you done that makes you stand out?

Take time to research into the industry and decide if it is something you want to do. Recruitment is a great industry where you're always challenged and there are great rewards but it is tough, stressful and not for everyone. Make sure you are aware of the difficulties and comfortable with them before you commit to entering the industry.

Sell your best qualities as much as possible. People are often apprehensive to talk about themselves with fear of coming across arrogant but don't be afraid to let your personality and characteristics shine through. Recruitment is a sales role after all!
