What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
I would definitely say go for it, the proportion of graduates versus non graduates at Adecco is still fairly low as far as I am aware so you have a really good chance of impressing. Of course, having a degree is nowhere near as important as personality and attitude. Nevertheless, the skills you learn, particulary from a humantities degree where there is a lot of emphasis on structuring your points and ideas are so invaluable for any sales role. Everyday I constantly feel I am using my grasp on english language and my wider understanding of the world which were developed throughout my education to really benefit my candidates and clients.
Do you have any interview tips?
To be honest, looking back it was all such an exciting blur. But I would definitely say try and find out as much as you can about recruitment and how the day to day life of a recruitment consultant and their desk works. You need to be ready to fit into the team and get stuck in. I know it sounds cliche but just be yourself, in the stressful environment of sales your true personality will come out so you might as just be yourself from day one.
