Level 4 Insurance Professional Apprenticeship Programme

This Apprenticeship is a 30-36 month programme where you will be provided on the job training and a highly competitive study support package for the CII qualification. You will be fully supported by Willis Towers Watson and our official government approved Training Provider throughout the duration of the programme.
Your application will be considered for one of the following teams:

Accounting & Settlement (A&S)
The A&S team is a centralised operations function that adds real value to our clients through the provision of a collection service for our business transactions. This includes the timely collection and onwards settlement of insurance monies to Clients/Markets and the collection of Commission, Brokerage and Fees. Credit control, relationship management, query resolution, cash collection, the secure handling of Client Money (in line with FCA and SOX regulation) and the associated cashiering and cash allocation processes are all managed within A&S.

The Aerospace team is a specialist team within Willis Towers Watson focusing on Global Airline, Aerospace and General Aviation risks. This role is within the General Aviation and Aerospace team which place insurance solutions for Corporate Jet and Fleet management companies; Private Jet owners; Airports, aviation products manufacturers to name but a few.

Central Operations
The Central Operations team perform a wide variety of central service functions in support of the Businesses to promote best practice and delivery of high-quality client outcomes. The team provides operational support for the creation/renewal and ongoing management of facilities such as setup and renewal of master facilities (binders and lineslips), support business units in the development of business cases for new and renewing facilities, preparing premium and risk written bordereaux, update carrier and internal/external systems, administration of mid-term adjustments, preparation of management information for Business Units and carriers, maintenance of facilities catalogue and query resolution.

Fine Art, Jewellery & Specie (FAJS)
The FAJS team is the world’s largest broking team for this niche class of insurance. The type of clients handled by the team include (but is not limited to) museums, art galleries, private collectors, coin collectors, cash in transit operators, jewellers, fine art shippers and packers and corporate entities. We have a good mix of direct and wholesale business and liaise with Willis Towers Watson offices and other intermediaries on a worldwide basis.
Global Services & Solutions (GSS)
The GSS team helps multinational organisations clarify risk and bring order to a complicated world. Our focus is international expertise, strategic program design, and global program coordination. The GSS team is positioned as an enabler for multinational business to ensure that Willis Towers Watson’s multinational clients and client teams are supported and receive a consistent client experience.

Willis Towers Watson is one of the oldest brokers in marine insurance having commenced its operations in 1828 and remains at the forefront of the marine industry today. Our Global Marine structure is designed to best serve our clients locally, with a Global placement strategy to access competitive terms and conditions. This integrated approach is backed by decades of knowledge allowing us to offer global expertise through any point of contact at a local level, no matter where your marine risk may be.

Property & Casualty (P&C)
The P&C business place bespoke insurance and reinsurance solutions for our diverse client base, ranging from large global corporate clients, to Small and Medium sized Enterprise (SME) and new start-ups. P&C split into two areas: Wholesale (Construction: civil, industrial, residential; Energy: oil & gas upstream and downstream, power, utilities, mining, metals) and Retail (Leisure & hospitality, real estate, healthcare, public sector, education; Retail & distribution, manufacturing, business services).
Both teams help our clients reduce the cost of risk in their business, providing financial, legislative and societal solutions to achieve their goals. As well as protecting our clients’ people, assets and liabilities, providing financial strength and outstanding claims service after unexpected events, such as natural catastrophes and personal injury.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
The Enterprise Risk Management team are responsible for designing, placing and managing all classes of insurance in the programme that Willis Towers Watson purchases in order to protect itself against the risks that the Group is faced with, and in order to conduct business globally. We are not part of Corporate Risk & Broking, but we form one of the core pillars that comprise ERM. The ERM team works with our businesses and corporate functions to ensure a proactive and integrated approach to risk management, and with colleagues to help them effectively and efficiently deliver quality and manage risk. Within the Risk Financing and Insurance team, we occupy a unique position in that we are both colleagues and a client of Willis Towers Watson in that we are buyers of insurance. We are also involved in ongoing and potential mergers and acquisitions.

Market Security Group
The Market Security Group is a central analytical team undertaking annual financial assessments of some 2,500 insurers worldwide. Our team of 15 analysts are required to carry out research and financial analysis on these insurers, providing a financial assessment to the Willis Towers Watson’s Security Committee and written factual reports to clients. A significant amount of effort is dedicated to understanding of the factors and influences (such as economic crises, political events and natural disasters) that have an impact on these insurance companies. Through our analyses, the team gets visibility of insurance markets in diverse territories, allowing Willis Towers Watson to make consistent and informed decisions for clients that may be local or global.

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to deal professionally with internal and external contacts

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
• Keen eye for detail
• Proficient MS Word and an understanding of MS Excel would be advantageous
• Intermediate knowledge of data analysis
