Who is TJX Europe?
You might not have heard of TJX Europe, but you’ve probably heard of our brands – TK Maxx and Homesense. Off-price – the key to our success
What keeps our customers coming back time and time again? The fact that we offer designer labels, top brands and unique gems for less. Our ever-changing, eclectic treasure hunt of thousands of the world’s best and most exciting fashion and homeware brands mean our customers can find their unique style for less.
This is down to our Off-Price business model, which is at the heart of everything we do. Our opportunistic buyers are on the hunt throughout the year, buying merchandise from thousands of vendors around the world. It’s about thinking fast, being creative and making great deals.
This means that no two deliveries are ever the same. And neither are any two days. It’s an unconventional approach which is echoed throughout all areas of TJX Europe.
As a graduate in Merchandising and Buying, you’ll get experience of both areas of the business to fully understand how your work impacts our results, and how key the relationship between Merchandising and Buying truly is.
Responsibility from the start
You’ll start with a comprehensive induction and then continue to develop through a series of workshops, training programmes and a variety of projects, all of which will enable you to take on responsibility quickly.
With a huge support network behind you, which includes your manager, mentor and buddy, you’ll start to develop the people skills and technical know-how to make key decisions. Then it’s time to put it into practice, as you gain experience in a range of roles with real responsibilities. You’ll start in Merchandising, analysing sales patterns, anticipating product trends and learning to spot opportunities in order to ensure the right goods are in the right stores at the right time.
Here you’ll gain experience and develop your knowledge of managing a team and open a potential pathway into Buying. The Assistant Merchandiser role will be your earliest opportunity to move into this area. Don’t forget we are a truly European Business therefore this could be in either the UK or if you have the language skills this could open a path into one of our European Buying Offices outside the UK. If you discover that your longer-term career ambitions lie elsewhere then the flexibility of our business means you could potentially move into E-Commerce, Store Trading or even other areas of the business.

For our 2018 Merchandising & Buying Graduate Programme, we have a number of vacancies for candidates with business level Italian language skills. Alongside the requirements listed below, if you have European language skills – particularly German, Spanish and French – that would be great. And if you’ve lived and worked in Europe, even better.
