Our award winning summer vacation scheme is the ideal introduction to both Mills & Reeve and the legal profession.  We offer two weeks’ work experience at one of our offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, Manchester (with the opportunity to spend time in our Leeds office) or Norwich.

During the placement, you will experience real work with a variety of solicitors in four different legal areas.  This may mean undertaking legal research, preparing or checking draft documents, attending court and client meetings or serving proceedings.

You will be paired with one of our trainees who will answer your day to day questions and help you make the most of your experience.  Presentations and a selection of social events which will allow you to appreciate our culture.

The dates for our summer vacation schemes for 2019 are:

Birmingham and Cambridge: 17 June to 28 June 2019

Manchester and Norwich: 24 June to 5 July 2019

Qualifications Required

We welcome applications from penultimate or final year law students, final year non-law students and graduates. We expect you to have already gained or be on course for a 2.1 degree or equivalent from either law or non-law disciplines.

We recruit graduates who set high standards of achievement in both their academic and personal life. You’ll have a good balance between academic ability, interpersonal skills, drafting skills, common sense, commercial awareness, confidence and a professional attitude to work. You will also be willing to accept early responsibility.
