Application Advice:

The application format has changed since I've joined, so I wouldn't be the best person to answer this

Interview Advice:

Just be yourself, make sure you come across as yourself and don't put up pretenses.

Application Advice:

You should show high levels of emotional intelligence to work at Brightsource. Demonstrating that you can read signals and are understanding of people's needs are key attributes here. You also need to be able to show you are willing (and not afraid to) adapt to changing situations. Flexibility as well as a desire to look at things from a new angle will give you the edge here.

Interview Advice:

Give real-life examples (outside of academic achievements) of where you have delivered projects, managed your time effectively and moved out of your comfort zone! Be professional. Remember, many of the roles here at Brightsource are client facing as well as being personable, you need to show a high level of professionalism - what you wear, your manner etc.

Application Advice:

- Be yourself and talk about all of the experiences you've had outside of you academic career.
- Emotional intelligence and softer people skills are valued very highly, and are very important in your day-to-day role. If you can demonstrate these skills

Interview Advice:

- Display professionalism. If you can get the balance between appearing to be someone who would be presentable in a client facing professional environment (E.g. dress, courtesy etc), along with having a natural personality and flair then you'll be onto a

Application Advice:

Be clear and concise in you application.

Interview Advice:

Be confident and practice your interview techniques. Worry less about the perfect answer, but more about how you get to the answer and putting forward a clear argument/point.

Application Advice:

Be interesting, and be bold - Brightsource isn't looking for your 'cookie cutter' graduate. Brightsource wants ambitious people with big ideas, who can think for themselves, who aren't afraid to speak out when they disagree with something, and who are always looking for new opportunities. They also like people who aren't afraid of hard work - so if you can show that you're willing to get stuck in with even the most menial of tasks, that will go down really well.

Interview Advice:

You probably won't be asked the usual stuff (why did you apply for this role, what have you done in your previous job, etc etc) - you'll be asked more interesting "personality" type questions, because they're much more interested in what kind of person you are than what you have on your CV. That makes it pretty hard to prepare for the interview, but it also can make the interview a more enjoyable experience! Just relax, be honest, be yourself.

Application Advice:

-It's very important to be yourself. The role is great as you get to interact with a variety of people. The relationships you build with suppliers, internal teams and clients will be much stronger if they feel you are authentic and trustworthy.

Application Advice:

Think for yourself, and if you have a tiny 'niggle' or feeling that something isn't quite right - SPEAK UP. Other people may not have spotted it and will appreciate your fresh eyes and attention to detail.

Interview Advice:

Answers are not important, its how you get to those answers that is important and thats what Brightsource care about during the recruitment. Its the same as having to show your working out for a maths problem at school - most points are awarded for the workings out!

Be mature and respectful and be prepared to ask questions without being silly. You have already got to the interview stage so they must already be quite impresses with your competency - Brightsource like fresh minds.

Interview Advice:

Be personable and willing to get stuck in. The interviewers want to see you exemplify the same values as the company. My group had to compose and sing a song on the day. So relax and try to have a good time. Life's too short for anything else.

Finally, you don't have to know the answers, But you do have to show that you've given the question careful consideration.

Application Advice:

Show a positive attitude to facing challenges. Have opinions, and don't be afraid to challenge other people's (in a positive way!).

Interview Advice:

Don't try too hard to be formal and businesslike. Yes, you need to be professional, but Brightsource wants to see your personality, so relax, be friendly, and let everyone see how you'll fit in with the company's culture. Be on-the-ball and ask lots of questions.

Application Advice:

Clarity is always important in your application, the company also likes to know how you think. Don't be afraid of explaining your answers during the application process. Working to a conclusion is more indicative.

Interview Advice:

Just be yourself, and take your time when answering a question. Be prepared for what appear to be odd or difficult questions, as they provide insight into your thought processes. At times there may not be a 'wrong' answer, so try not to panic.

Application Advice:

Show the right attitude to be able to work in an all inclusive, team orientated environment. Show you have a great attitude towards pro-active learning, the ability to own mistakes, and a desire to search out positive change in processes.

Interview Advice:

Rather than trying to come across as a ruthless business mind, show you can be a positive presence in group discussions, thinking innovatively and facilitating the involvement of the whole group.

Also, like with any company, do your homework. It's easy to find out about the clients we work with, and the attitudes and behaviours Brightsource value. Think about your own experience in this context, and show that you understand our client base, their needs, and how a company like Brightsource can help them grow.
