What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The company culture is very friendly and compassionate, and the people are generally quite friendly.

Worst

There are a lot of acronyms for many different things and people use them all the time, so expect to not really know what people are talking about some of the time.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £21,000 - £23,000

Current salary: £17,000 - £19,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

You should read over any material supplied to you a few times and do some research as to how the council operates beforehand. The council's size and importance can make it seem really intimidating, and I find understanding a bit more about what precisely they do and the rough pipeline helps make it feel less overwhelming.

Do you have any interview tips?

Try to be both friendly and point out your good qualities. The nature of most council work means that your interviewers will be patient and relatively relaxed 99% of the time, so you don't need to feel particularly intimidated unless you're applying for a very important role. Also try to point out your good qualities while trying not to sound boastful.
