What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

As an apprentice I was worried there would be a stigma that I was the 'newbie' and everyone in my new team would give me the work they didn't want to do etc. but it was the complete opposite. I was met with trust and given the responsibility to work at the same level with the other members of my team straight away and it definitely grew my confidence.

Worst

I couldn't tell you one bad thing about working for TJX other than unfortunately because of Covid-19 we're having to work from home. I've been told how amazing the offices are to work in when they're busy and filled with activity so it's just unfortunate that I haven't been able to experience that yet.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £19,000 - £21,000

Current salary: £19,000 - £21,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

100% be yourself, don't worry too much about making your CV look immaculate, just really get across your passion for the industry.

Definitely brush up on your GCSE English and Maths, the apprenticeship is paired with a Fashion Retail Academy course and you need to reach entry level to qualify. I personally hadn't looked at GCSE Maths for 2 years and it was definitely a shock to the system when I had to remember how to do algebra again!

Do you have any interview tips?

Again, be yourself, TJX want to hire authentic people who know who they are. Don't worry if you don't have the most amazing grades, if they like you as a person that's the most important thing. From my personal experience with my interview process, I was up against some very qualified people but I didn't let that knock my confidence and here I am today working for TJX and I couldn't be happier.

Also definitely do some background research on the history of the company, I was asked what I knew about the company in my final interview and I'd obviously did my research and they were very impressed.
