What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

I am given opportunities to work with other areas of the Bank and help carry out key functions in maintaining economic stability. The vast amount of data we use also allows me to implement skills, knowledge and behaviours from the apprenticeship studies into the workplace environment which helps be advance and improve both my work and my studies.
I also have opportunities to engage with external stakeholders allowing me to develop strong communication skills and represent the Bank externally.

Worst

Resourcing is tight in the Bank which I feel has increased my workload and means that I don't always have enough time to work on all the projects I want to.
As the organisation is quite large and has many different areas and functions, I sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed when working with other areas because I don't always understand the value of the work I'm doing and how other areas use our data.
Due to tight security, not all technologies can be used and this sometimes limits my opportunities for implementing apprenticeship studies.

Choose the apprenticeship and area based on something you enjoy and are interested in rather than focusing on things like salary, benefits etc.

Do you have any interview tips?

Make sure you know about the the key functions of the Bank and the work of the area you apply to.
