What is the annual salary for this role?
Starting salary: £0 - £12,000
Current salary: £17,000 - £19,000
What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Employers like to see some history of employment whether it was paid or voluntary as this shows that you have had previous experience within a working environment. If you have interests/hobbies that you deem appropriate to an engineering position e.g. frequently enjoy building models, designing new things, maintaining your car/bike. These hobbies show that you enjoy using your mind for creative applications and that you like to get hands on.
Do you have any interview tips?
Confidence is a very important trait in an interview but don't be too confident as this can come across as being big-headed or arrogant. Research any company you apply for before you turn up for the interviews as you will get asked questions based on the company. I was asked questions like:
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
- I felt this was to see if there was anything that points towards being a suitable candidate.
Why do you want to join Spirax Sarco?
- This is to see what you may know about Spirax Sarco already (research the company before you go for the interview)
Why do you think you're a suitable candidate?
- This is a question for you to explain your positive traits such as "I believe I have good team working skills" and "I have always enjoyed using my mind to see how things I use from day to day have been designed and manufactured."
