What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

You are supported for professional qualifications.
The hours don't really change.
You have ownership over a lot of work from the beginning.

Worst

Flexible working isn't really promoted.
The cyclical nature of reporting makes it quite hard to use annual leave.
Quite an aged workforce.
There aren't a lot of good social networks or committees.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £25,000 - £27,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

It was a CV and cover letter application so structure them well without too much 'waffling' or elaborate wording. This makes for a simple read.
Use the responsibilities and desired candidate profile from the job description to tailor your CV and cover letter. Use the key terms used in the job description to highlight how your skill set matches.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be open and show your personality.
Brush up on your industry and commercial knowledge as I was asked what I foresee as a future prospect for the market.
Give real-life examples to provide evidence of the traits you are trying to display.
I had to present in front of 5/6 managers and senior managers, so work on your presentation skills and question responses.
Have a topic that isn't directly related to academia or work to talk about, this will display your enthusiasm and allow them to get to know you.
Ask questions about the team dynamics, flexible working, workload etc. That way you'll discover if the company is the right fit for you.
