What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

It is as far away from your typical 9-5 office job because you are always going to different properties.
Being able to help people who are in need (and some customers ask many questions)
As an apprentice being able to get on very well with my tutor and a couple other engineers who are happy for you to jump on jobs with them to gain more experience and information

Every job that you attend is different, one job can be a reported smell of gas in a domestic property that results in a no trace (everything is fine there are no current gas leaks)
or it can be a severe gas leak which can not be turned off at the ECV for various reasons and the property is full of gas. This is when you have to act and think very quickly to resolve the emergency issue

Worst

Sometimes there are periods of hours where you do not get a job from dispatch but these are counteracted with immensely busy days where it is job after job.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £17,000 - £19,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Look at every department and chose which is the best for you.
Look at long term career development within the company

Be calm and relaxed
Be prompt in arriving to the interview (virtual or in person it makes a very good first impression and also shows you are keen)
Do some research on the company and the job,
Try and have a couple of DIY or other projects where you have had to be hands on, its gone wrong and you have had to resolve to make sure it worked.
