What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The range of engineering work and projects that individuals can be a part of and gain invaluable experience from. This includes the opportunity to be seconded to sites across the UK to get hands on with the installation and commissioning of the mechanical kit and electrical systems that have been designed in the offices and are being installed on site.

Worst

Limited international opportunities in the Nuclear sector of Babcock, however, Marine, Land and Aviation sectors make up for this with many international office, bases, and sites across the globe.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Ensure to include any experience you have in Engineering which may be anything from Engineering units/subjects covered in school or collage to Engineering based project undertaken at home or in your spare time such as building kits or programming Programmable Logic Controllers / computers (Raspberry Pi).

Do you have any interview tips?

Bring along any pieces that demonstrates your experience, understanding and interest in the Engineering Sector. This could be a 3D model that you've used to develop a final product or concept designs/drawings that you may have produced during school or college for an assignment that demonstrates the understanding the design and development process from initial concepts through to prototyping and final manufactured product.
