What are the Best and Worst things about your job?
Best
Helping people every day:
I am often the first point of contact when someone is stuck, frustrated, or unable to work. Successfully resolving their issue and getting them back up and running is very rewarding.
Learning something new constantly:
I am exposed to a wide range of systems, applications, and issues (hardware, software, networking, accounts, MFA, etc.), which helps you build strong foundational IT knowledge.
Variety in day-to-day work:
No two days are the same. Each call or ticket brings a different challenge, which keeps the role interesting.
Worst
High call volumes and pressure:
At busy times, call queues and ticket backlogs can be demanding, especially when multiple users need urgent support.
Dealing with frustrated users:
Some users may be stressed or upset when things aren’t working, and it can be challenging to stay calm and professional in those situations.
Limited control over resolution:
Some issues need to be escalated to second or third line teams, which means you can’t always fix the problem immediately.
