What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

There are many people within the team with a large amount of knowledge and so you are constantly learning whilst on the job. There are clear progression opportunities and they do also ensure that you get to go out the office to meet agents, go to Lloyds in London and meet insurers so there is exposure to all areas of the department.

Worst

It is a very busy department and so it is sometimes difficult to be able to manage my work load alongside my coursework and then my free time as well so time management is crucial. There is a large amount of process rather than having the flexibility to negotiate and learn outside of a tick box exercise which sometimes is repetitive. There is no flexitime, despite the department being good with needing time off, it would be nice to have this flexibility.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

If you are willing to work full time and also complete learning at the same time then this is for you. You need to be able to balance both of these throughout your day at work to achieve the standard required in order to be employed.

Do you have any interview tips?

Why was the apprenticeship the route for you? When I was asked this question I explained that the Uni route was not for me and this allowed me to earn a full-time salary but also receive qualifications so it covered every area that I wanted to meet.
