What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Often many factors to consider as a design engineer, providing variance and constant learning in day-to-day work.

Worst

Quite variable work loads, which is understandable as a first year apprentice with very little prior experience, but leads to have too much and too little to do, sometimes week on week.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £19,000 - £21,000

Current salary: £19,000 - £21,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Have a good, professional CV written. Same with the cover letter if that is required. And if you are certain on the job you want, keep searching for positions even if they seem hard to find.

Do you have any interview tips?

Ensure CV is discussed, as while my interviewers did not ask directly, I was informed when I was initially rejected for the job (and offered it back later) that I did not do this enough. I also had to give a short presentation on information I could find about the company, and if anyone else has to do that, I would recommend allocating plenty of time to develop it.
