What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Opportunity to gain exposure to various areas of the business, make contacts and build relationships with individuals across different teams, the support received in completing our studies and meet our goals, the number of extra-curricular activities available to us.

Worst

Low salary and not being included in any company wide salary raises, the occasional difficulty of balancing work and studies, at times some people see you as either a fully seasoned professional or just a free resource, rather than as an apprentice who is learning on the job - this leads to them either giving you meaningless tasks to complete or work that are beyond your levels of expertise.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £21,000 - £23,000

Current salary: £25,000 - £27,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Do in depth research on the company's values- this will help you understand what type of behaviour they look from potential hires. Have a thorough understanding of the scheme you are applying for and don't be afraid to reach out to any current/ex- VMO2 apprentices to ask for advice.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be your authentic self- this may sound like generic advice but this will help you come across as more genuine. VMO2 choose apprentices based on potential so you don't already have to be a seasoned professional- just demonstrate your willingness to learn and potential to grow as a professional. During interviews /team activities demonstrate your ability to critically think and work well in a team, along with the ability to self reflect and understand your areas of strength and weakness.
